The Problem

A SENTRYsolutions Analyst detected an increase in acceleration readings on a hydraulic oil supply pump on the front-of-line washer system. A new issue in Desk was opened, and it was recommended the plant’s maintenance team check for a filtering issue that occurred on this pumping system one month prior. The issue was ultimately determined to be cavitation.

How We Solved It

The plant’s on-site maintenance team was able to isolate the issue to the filter by altering and monitoring performance variables on the stamping press. The filter was replaced, and the pump returned to a healthy state.
