In SMARTdiagnostics, a clear increase in vibration was seen. Using bearing information provided by the customer, it was identified that based on the specifications for this bearing, a bearing fault frequency was occurring. Following inspection, a critically damaged bearing was found.
Based on this callout, the customer took action to replace this damaged. This repair was completed during scheduled downtime, preventing a sudden catastrophic failure. Following replacement, vibration levels returned to healthy levels.
